Title
The Defy Advanced Pro range shares the same fundamental construction as the SL Range save for a few things : the Integrated seatpost, the grade of carbon fibre used and certain construction processes. While the SL frames and forks feature Torayca T800 fibre throughout, the Advanced Pro utilises the slightly lower modulus T700. Ultimately this means that the Advanced Pro range is marginally heavier and fractionally less stiff as a result. With that said, we are talking about low single-digit percentages and the average rider looking to push their distances up or increase their time in the saddle could do very much worse than the impressive Giant Defy Advanced Pros.
The Defy Advanced Pro features a new resin and construction process. Advances in the frame construction include vibration-absorbing particles to disperse road shock. Not only are the Giant Defy Advanced Pro frames real performance pieces, they are also all hand-made, demonstrating the incredible value inherent within when you consider their price and that of the competition.
The Giant Defy Advanced Pro offers proven handling and control afforded by the endurance geometry and oversized headtube married to a strong, high performing component package. The Defy Advanced Pro 2 delivers great ride characteristics on a bike that will serve beautifully in all conditions for years to come. Shimano's 105 groupset offers all the shifting smoothness of Ultegra at a tiny weight penalty that is more than countered by the lower price. Braking is handled by RS505 hydraulic discs and are coupled with 160mm rotors for powerful stopping. The brake's graduated lever feel ensures that you don't launch yourself and the modulation is superb offering handfuls of control.
Giant provide their own hoops in the form of their SR2 Wheels.
The combination of components and Giant's all-round wheel set makes the Defy Advanced Pro 2 a sensible proposition indeed.
Engineered for real-world performance, especially on challenging roads and long days in the saddle. The Advanced-grade composite frame features endurance geometry with the perfect blend of light weight, stiffness and road-smoothing compliance. The OverDrive 2 steerer tube and composite fork work together to boost front-end stiffness and precision. Disc brake technology with 12mm front and rear thru-axles gives you total control, even on rough roads and poor conditions. The D-Fuse seatpost smooths out road vibrations and the PowerCore bottom bracket turns every pedal stroke into positive forward motion.
