Description
Giant are in the business of creating high quality product that offer genuine value for money. To this end, their Advanced ranges of carbon bikes - be that Defy, TCR or Propel - all use the high grade (and indeed benchmark) Torayca Carbon fibre married to high quality resins, in processes that they control from start to finish. The result is the finest quality entry level carbon bikes on the market.
Recently re-designed, the Defy Advanced series uses the upgraded Torayca T700 carbon frameset. This lends greater stiffness and lower weight to an already strong performer and coupled with an excellent component package, the Defy Advanced range is difficult to beat for the discerning cyclist looking to venture into the carbon road bike realm.
The use of disc brakes adds an element of confidence for the sportive rider or solo mile-muncher who enjoys descending and riding whatever the conditions. All Giant's Defy Advanced models now employ the stopping prowess of hydraulic actuated disc brake calipers.
A Shimano Tiagra groupset remains the componentry of choice while Giant's SR 2 disc wheels handle rolling duties so you have everything you need from a carbon bike for churning out the miles, be those commuting or endurance riding. Like the bulk of Giant's Avail and Defy ranges, the Advanced features a D-Fuse seatpost - so called as its profile is shaped like a D and diffuses unwanted vibration to create a more comfortable ride.
Designed around the proven endurance geometry of the Defy range and handcrafted with lightweight, smooth riding Advanced grade composite, the frame delivers speed, confidence and control. The rear triangle features ultra thin, flattened seat stays to reduce road vibrations and the D-Fuse seatpost helps smooth out the road. Disc brake technology with integrated flat mount technology gives you more control in all types of weather. So however far you ride, Defy Advanced helps you stay strong to the finish.
